Speech 2019- Poverty

This term is school speeches we all have to relate it to HAOUA our school subject. I'm doing on why we should reduce child poverty in New Zealand.

My first point is Maslow Hierarchy Of Needs my second is what the government is doing to help and my third point is what we and our community can do to help. Here is what I have so far I hope you like it. I chose this topic because I wanted to show how lucky you all are to have parents that don't hurt you and are able to go to school.

The Race

On the 20th of August 2019 wainui beach school had Cross Country. It started with year 6 girls then boys, year 5 girls then boys, year 0 girls then boys etcetera. But the 4s where the last race. I'm a year 5.

As we made it to the start line Matua Nick was on the side. He told us that we are doing 2 big laps. I was not ready. "On your marks get set BANG!" With a loud bang we where off.  Naia was in front of me. she said she was amming to come 2nd. As we where coming around a corner her shoe came off! Yes this is my chance. I was Jogging up the road but Kayla was right next to me. "Hi Kayla" I said "hi" she replied. We ran up the sand and dad was there to cheer me on "Go Tillie, remember a sprint at the end" he said " I know" I replied.

We were together for most of the 1st lap then I over took her. For most of the 2nd lap I was way in front of them and 4 boys over took me. As I made it to the finish line I was to puffed to sprint. Everyone was cheering and koka Sophie said to me " Well done Tillie more shine cards for mango" ( blue house ) dad came over and said "Well done hun. Your gonna get a chocolate sundae  tonight.)
I was so happy to come 1st.
